rod cap (A) must engage the tab on the
connecting rod ([B] Fig. 24).

2. Install the rod bolts, dipper an d washers (if
equipped) and torque as listed. See
SECTION 14- ENGINE
SPECIFICATIONS.
CAUTION: (28Q700)
Torque screw closest to the piston first.
Torque screw farthest from the piston second.
3. Rotate crankshaft two revolutions to
ensure crank pin and rod are not binding.
4. Move connecting rod from side to side to
ensure clearance from crank pin
sidewalls.
