NEC ExpressBuilder DVD

Please setup the server using the NEC ExpressBuilder DVD both when setting it up for
the first time, and when you make changes to its configuration.

With the NEC ExpressBuilder DVD you can:

■ Install the Operating System, using the Express Setup.
■ Diagnose the system, using the System Diagnostics tool.
■ Create a support disk; this disk will be used to manually install a Microsoft
operating system.
■ Update the BIOS or the server firmware.
■ Update a Microsoft operating system, using the "Update System" feature of the
Wi n d o w s A u t o r u n m e n u ( a v a i l a b l e f r o m t h e w i n d o w s - b a s e d N E C
ExpressBuilder).
■ Install utilities, such as management software for Windows (NEC ESMPRO,
Dianascope, etc.). Windows-based applications are installed via the Windows
Autorun menu.
■ Read the on-line documentation (Windows systems only).

Software End-User License Agreement

Carefully read the terms and conditions of the Software End User License Agreement
printed on the NEC ExpressBuilder DVD-ROM sleeve.

Using a Client Computer equipped with a CD Drive

The NEC ExpressBuilder disk is a DVD, which means that the client computer you
want to use to manage the server needs a DVD drive.
If you want to install the NEC ExpressBuilder management software to the client
without a DVD drive, make a CD-R from the NEC ExpressBuilder DVD according to
the procedure below.
CD to install the management software to the client.
1. Insert the NEC ExpressBuilder DVD in a computer equipped with a DVD
drive.
