Required Tools

The tools required to install the Disk Expansion Unit on the rack include Phillips and minus
screw drivers.

Installing the Disk Expansion Unit in an NEC or Third Vendor Rack

The Disk Expansion Unit can be installed to a proper NEC or third vendor rack.
The installation procedure is described below.
1. Define where you wish to install the Disk Expansion Unit.
The Disk Expansion Unit occupies 2U of standard 19 inches of rack space.
2. Install the captive nuts attached to the rack at the corresponding position.
- Install eight captive nuts on the inner side of the front of the rack (four captive nuts to
the left side and four captive nuts to the right side). Position the captive nuts in the
second, third, fourth, and fifth rectangular holes starting from the top of the disk
expansion unit
- Install four captive nuts on the inner side of the rear of the rack (two captive nuts to the
left side and two captive nuts to the right side).
Position the captive nuts in the third and fourth rectangular holes starting from the top of
the disk expansion unit.

Hang the bottom clip of a captive nut on the proper rectangular hole of the rack and
insert the top clip of the captive nut into the hole using the minus driver.
