Using the Internal Hard Disk Drives
in the RAID System
This section describes how to use hard disk drives in the hard disk drive bays of the server in
the RAID System. You can build a RAID System using the Internal RAID Controller or an
optional RAID Controller
Making hard disks in the RAID system configuration or
changing the RAID level initializes hard disks. If the hard
disk to be configured in the array has your valuable data
stored, make sure to make a backup copy of the data before
installing the RAID controller board and configuring the
array.
At least two hard disk drives are required to configure a Log-
ical drive.
Use hard disks of the same capacity and performance (e.g.,
revolution) for each pack to configure them in the array.
Choose a controller corresponding to the RAID level and
hard disk drives of your choice
A Logical Drive (except RAID0) increases the disk reliability.
However, the available capacity becomes smaller than the
total hard disk drive capacity configured in the Logical Drive.
