Updating the
UNIX
PC
This chapter shows you how to update the UNIX PC by
setting up the system for communications, installing
software, adding and removing user logins, changing
passwords, and changing the system date and time.
Some
of the tasks discussed in this chapter are executed
only from the Administration menu of the install login;
others are executed from the Administration menu of any
login.
The procedures covered in this section are:

Setting up mail information for
communications

Installing software from floppy disks
o
Installing software from Electronic Mail
o
Displaying installed software
o
Removing installed software
o
Setting up a new font
o
Adding and removing user logins
o
USing passwords
o
Changing the system date and time
Setting Up Mail
Mail Setup is used for more than just setting up
Electronic Mail.
You use the Mail Setup option to set
up your system to use printers attached to remote
computers.
Read the following mail setup procedures
even if you have not purchased Electronic Mail
software.
