Setting
UP
a Printer
To connect a printer to your system, you must tell the
system the name of the printer you are connecting.
You
must also indicate whether it is a serial or a parallel
printer.
Parallel printers connect to the printer
port, labeled Printer; serial printers connect to RS-
232 ports.
Check your printer manual to determine
whether the printer is serial or parallel.

information on individual printer types, see Appendix D
of this manual.
Printer Setup is available through the Administration
of install or through Printers in the Office of any
user.
Note
Setting up a printer temporarily halts
the printing of any other printer
connected to your system.
You may want
to check the printer queue before
setting up another printer (see
"Checking the Printer Queue" in the
Using Printers section).

To set up a printer:
