Setting
Up
the UNIX PC
The following list explains the device types:
NONE
Default entry that appears if
nothing is set up on the RS-232
port.
NONE is also used to remove
a configured device.
MODEM
Connects an external modem to the
RS-232 port.
TERMINAL
Connects a terminal to the RS-232
port.
COMPUTER
Connects another computer to the RS-
232 port.
OTHER
Connects another device, such as a
plotter, to the RS-232 port.
Note
Use the Printer Setup selection in the
Hardware menu to configure a serial
printer on the RS-232 port.

Point to the desired device type.

Press <Enter>.

Press <Return>.
The highlight moves to the Device Speed:
field.
The correct device speed entry
depends on the device type you are
connecting.
See the device instruction
manual for more information.

Press <Mark> until the correct baud rate
(line speed) appears.

Press <Enter>.
