What Is a Patlmame?
A pathname is a way of specifying the location of an
object contained in a folder other than the current
folder.
The following illustration shows the arrangement of
folders and files belonging to tutor.
If you have
followed the examples in the AT&T UNIX
PC
Getting
Started Guide, you are familiar with the folders and
files shown below.
Administration
;CJ.iSrfffun
Floppydisk
Preferences
Printers
Wastebasket
--- -- ---
This illustration shows two of the files contained in
the practice folder.
If you were to specify the
location of the practice folder, you might say, "the
practice folder is contained in the Filecabinet."
Or
you might draw a diagram such as:
