Selecting Objects and Entering Commands
Typing Commands
You can enter Office commands by pressing the Cmd key
and typing the name of the action,
followed by the
name(s) of the objects(s) to be affected.
For example,
you can delete a file by first pressing the Cmd key,
then typing delete, a space, and the name of the file,
and then pressing the Return or Enter key.
This method is most effective when you are operating
the
UNIX
PC with the Commands menu display turned off.
Once you are familiar with the commands that are
available, you'll find that you can enter commands more
rapidly if you turn the Commands menu off and type
them.
This method of command entry is also useful when
you are working with the
UNIX
PC using a remote
terminal.
(See
"Changing User Preferences" in this
section for information on turning off the Commands
menu. )
