14.4 Configure Dual Projectors for 3D

When you install dual projectors, audio is only available from the master projector. To play content correctly,
you must ingest content into both projectors and each projector must have a valid Key Delivery Message
(KDM) key.
When using dual projectors, you create playlists on the master projector only. If you are using an automation
device such as a Christie ACT, connect it to the master projector.
For optimal image quality, it is recommended that you assign each projector a left or right eye role. In addition,
make sure the projectors are correctly aligned to each other every time you display content.
You can select Active Dual Enabled if you are using an active 3D system and want to send left and right
images to both projectors. However, this methodology is not recommended for dual projector 3D
presentations. When you select Active Dual Enabled, you cannot change the Master 3D Eye Selection or 3D
Eye Selection fields.
1. Install and align your dual projectors following the instructions provided with each projector. See
Installation and Setup on page 1-1.
2. Connect each projector to a NAS or DAS device. A single NAS or DAS device cannot be shared by
multiple Christie IMBs. See
the Projector to Direct-attached Storage on page 1-14.
3. Connect an Ethernet cable to each projector and then connect the cables to the same switch. Assign each
projector an IP address that is on the same subnet. See
4. Connect one end of a 50 ohm BNC cable to the Sync Out connector on the master projector and then
connect the other end to the Gen Lock connector on the slave projector.
5. On the master projector touch panel controller (TPC), tap Menu > Christie IMB > System > Multi
Projector.
