▼ Assign a Static IP to the NET MGT Port
Use this procedure only when:
You are unable to use DHCP on your network.
You must modify the NET MGT port settings.
In this procedure, you connect to the SER MGT port to manually reconfigure the NET
MGT port to use a static IP address.
Note – For more information on configuring ILOM, refer to Netra SPARC T3-1 Server
Administration Guide.
1. Set these network parameters according to the specific details of your network
configuration.
Parameter
/SP/network state
/SP/network pendingipaddress
/SP/network pendingipgateway
/SP/network pendingipnetmask
/SP/network pindingipdiscovery
/SP/network commitpending
Configure these parameters using the set command. For example:
-> set /host/network pendingaddress=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Set 'pendingaddress' to 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx'
2. Configure the service processor using information from your network
administrator.
Parameter
Description
Set up the network connection with a dynamically created IP
dhcp
configuration.
Set up the network connection with a static IP configuration.
static
Description
Specifies whether or not the service processor
is on the network.
IP address of the service processor.
IP address of the gateway for the subnet.
Netmask for the service processor subnet.
Specifies whether the service processor uses
DHCP or static IP address assignment.
Commits the service processor to use the
pending settings
