Place/Scan Originals
Using Platen Glass ... FACE DOWN
1 Position the open book or sheet on the platen glass in the right rear corner, aligning
the edge with the right measuring guide. To output the set in the same order as the
originals, start scanning from the first page.
When selecting Front cover + Facing pages or Front/Back cover + Facing pages ,
scan the front/back cover first, as shown in the illustration below.
2 Press [ START ] to scan.
3 Remove the first original. Repeat the procedure for subsequent originals, pressing
[ START ] for each original.
NOTE:
When using platen glass, Non-image area erase and AUTO layout will be automatically selected.
DO NOT close the RADF when pressing [START] to scan, otherwise those functions may not
operate.

Using RADF ... FACE UP
1 Position originals FACE UP in the document feeder.
When selecting Front cover + Facing pages or Front/Back cover + Facing pages ,
scan the front/back cover from the platen glass first, then position the rest of originals
in the document feeder as shown in the illustration below.
2 Press [ START ] to scan. If original count exceeds 100, repeat the procedure for
subsequent originals, pressing [ START ] for each original.

Memory overflow may occur during scanning. See p. 14-4.
