Following features are available under Device Configuration:

Wireless 11n Properties

The section provides information about the configuration of the VAP features defining the wireless radio parameters and
11n parameters.
This feature provides information about the configuration of the VAP features defining the wireless radio parameters and
11n parameters. The wireless feature of the Access Point enables you to use the new technology called Multiple Input
Multiple Output (MIMO), that uses several antennas to transfer multiple data streams. In this way more data can be
transferred in the same period of time. The wireless architecture is based on the cellular architecture where the systems
are divided into cells, and each cell is called the BSS.
The Wireless LAN (WLAN) can be formed of a single cell or of many cells. Each of the WLAN has an entry point which is
called Virtual Access Point (VAP). The VAP has a unique BSSID and other relevant protocols that make these VAP as
independent entity. Each of the BSSID can be configured independently so that the user can provide unique
authentication and security feature.
VAP Features
VAP (Virtual Access Point): This is a logical entity that exists within the physical WLAN access device. The VAP
enables a single device to be divided into layers and each layer gets assigned to different users with their usage
rights.
VAP SSID (Service Set Identifier): The VAP SSID is referred as a network name which is unique and this is used
for identifying a wireless network. In other words, SSID is the network name that an Access Point broadcasts,
which a device identifies for the communication between users and the Access Point.
VAP BSSID: This parameter represents the MAC address for the VAP BSSID.
VAP Broadcast SSID: The continuous announcement of the SSID in the beacons by an AP stating that is
available is called broadcast SSID. The SSID is also broadcasted in probe response frames. Broadcasting the
SSID also depends on the type of network that the AP is running on. You can disable the SSID broadcast in the
AP. Disabling of this feature will change the SSID field in the beacon and probe response of the AP an obscure
one.
Fragmentation Threshold: The process of dividing a MAC Service Data Unit (MSDU) into smaller MAC level
frames for transmission over the wireless network is called fragmentation. This technique reduces both the
probability and adverse effects of wireless packet corruption, and thereby improving the overall wireless network
performance. You can fragment the Unicast receiver address, whereas Broadcast/Multicast frames cannot be
fragmented, even though they exceed a fragmentation threshold. You can configure fragmentation threshold up
to 2346 bytes.
Security Profile Name: This parameter allows you to configure the Security profile name for Wireless VAP. It has
to be a valid security profile configured under Wireless Security.
