Root Folders

The EMS GUI main window contains a number of default root folders,
these are sub-elements of the root node (the first node in the explorer
tree; typically, it is the hostname of the workstation where your EMS
server resides). You cannot move, rename, or delete these folders. All
elements you add to the EMS GUI (SNMP devices, users, and folders) will
be sub-elements of these root folders.
The EMS GUI contains the following root folders:
Equipment — This root folder contains SNMP devices organized in
various arrangements of folders, bays, and racks. For more
information, see
"SNMP Device Configuration"
Logical Views — This root folder contains a logical collection of
SNMP devices. After creating logical views, you can assign a logical
view to a specific user (also referred to as a root view). For more
information, see
"Creating a Logical View"
SNMP Agents — This root folder contains a list of all SNMP agents
discovered by EMS. To view these agents and their associated
relationships, use the Related view. For more information, see
"Right-hand Pane Views"
Logs — This root folder contains logical logs, which are collections of
related event records. For more information, see Log File and Network
Traffic Monitoring Configuration in the Enterprise Management Server
Administration Guide.
Users — This root folder contains all managed users of the EMS
server. For more information, see
Scheduled Events — This root folder contains the scheduled
operations, which are used to perform tasks at specific dates and
times. For more information, see Scheduled Operation Configuration
in the Enterprise Management Server Administration Guide.
Template — This root folder contains all the configuration templates
used to perform bulk changes on one or more objects. For more
information, see Configuration Templates in the Enterprise
Management Server Administration Guide.
