Configuring Equipment Folder Parameters
Description
The subnet mask for this SNMP device range.
This parameter is used only during IP range discovery.
If you select this parameter (recommended), EMS will
automatically skip over network and broadcast
addresses based on the subnet mask.
NOTE: 3Com recommends this option is set to Yes.
The SNMP Read Community string for access to the
devices. This should match the Read Community
string of the devices to be discovered.
The SNMP Write Community string. This should
match the Write Community string of the devices to
be discovered.
The number of times EMS will retry connecting to an
SNMP device. The default is 2.
The SNMP time out, in seconds. The default is 2.
The SNMP version number. This is a drop-down menu
with these options:

This is a drop-down menu that is only available if the
SNMP Version chosen is v3. These options are
available is v3 is chosen:
none

SHA (not supported in this release)

For SNMPv3 only, leave this field blank.
For SNMPv3 only, enter #.
For SNMPv3 only, enter the user name. The default is
manager for most 3Com SNMP devices.
For SNMPv3 only, enter the password. The default is
manager for most 3Com SNMP devices.
For SNMPv3 only, from the drop-down list, select
none.
NOTE: Authentication with encryption is not
supported for this release.
