Viewing SNMP
Device
Identification
To view basic identification information for an SNMP device:
1 From the explorer tree, select the SNMP device.
2 In the right pane of the main window, select the Identification tab.
The Properties view changes to show the Identification tab.
3 Use the Identification tab for your customized needs. See
Table 35 Identification Tab Values
Field
Description
Class
Specifies the internal schema className for
this object. Schema classeNames are EMS
internal class names and do not have any
relationship to MIB classes.
FQN
Specifies the fully qualified name of this
object. This is the complete path from the
root of all objects.
Hostname
Specifies the DNS host name.
IP Address
Specifies the IP address used for all SNMP
operations.
Location
Specifies the physical location of this
equipment. This field usually designates the
equipment folder a particular SNMP device is
found in.
User Label
Specifies the label assigned by the user. Use
this field to add a customized name, or label,
to a particular SNMP device.
Vendor
Specifies the vendor name of an SNMP
device.
Version
Specifies the software version of an SNMP
device
4 To edit a property on the tab, double-click it and select the desired
setting.
5 Click Save All.
