Prepare a Staging Server
To run NetWare Accelerated Upgrade, complete the following tasks:

Prepare a Staging Server (page 13)

Prepare the Network (page 17)
4.
Prepare the Target Server (page 15)
5.
Run NetWare Accelerated Upgrade (page 18)
6.
Complete Post-Upgrade Tasks (page 20)
A Windows 95/98, Windows NT*, Windows 2000, or Windows ME
workstation with 50 MB of available disk space.
The Windows 95/98 and Windows ME workstations must be running
®
Novell
Client
The Windows NT and Windows 2000 workstations must be running
Novell Client for Windows version 4.8 or later and Support Pack 1
or later
PS/2* or serial mouse recommended, but not required.

The staging server holds a copy of the NetWare 6 Operating System CD files.
From this one location, all targeted servers can be upgraded. The staging
server can be any server other than the server you plan to upgrade and the
client workstation you are using to run NetWare Accelerated Upgrade.

Do one of the following:
Copy the NetWare 6 Operating System CD files to a volume on the
staging server. Make sure that all target servers can access the staging
server and the client workstation.
Mount the NetWare 6 Operating System CD as a volume on the
staging server.
