7. Use the CPOL2 polarity checker to check the polarity of the wiring (see Figure 10-8).
► If CPOL2 detects the same signal characteristic at a test point, it considers the polarity OK. The
green LED lights up.
► If the signal characteristic is inverted, CPOL2 considers the polarity not OK. The red LED lights
up.
WARNING
Death or severe injury caused by high voltage or current possible
If you detect wrong polarity in the signal path:
► Do not disconnect the terminals as long as CT Analyzer injects the polarity
► Stop the measurement (see step 8) and turn off CT Analyzer first. Only then
► If CPOL2 does not detect any signal (for example, due to a too small signal magnitude), both
LEDs light up at the same time.
► If the wiring to be tested is open (disconnected or interrupted), CT Analyzer indicates by an
intermittent beep sound that no output current is flowing.
If you are in doubt whether your measurement is correct, you can confirm it by reversing the probes
of CPOL2. In that case, the other LED should light up.
