Part II: Settings and Measurements
4-9
Auto
The Auto function performs a rapid scan of all channels in the current channel plan. When activated, it
reads the signal level and categorizes each channel as analog or digital. In a digital search, the Auto tool
searches for DVB-C, DVB-T/H, DVB-T2, DTMB, DOCSIS, DVB-C2, ISDB-T, and ATSC in order.
Each channel type can be enabled or disabled in the search. If disabled, the Auto tool will skip over that
type and continue searching at the next one.
As shown below, press the Auto key to determine whether the current signal is effective; the search will stop
automatically if the signal is invalid. Effective signals will allow the scan to continue from DVB-T2; from there,
a locked signal will cause the search to end.
If no locked signals are present in any of the listed types, the search will start over from DVB-C and the
message "Effective signal, not locked" will appear.
