Purpose of Chapter 10
This chapter describes Periodic Maintenance (PM) on the scanner and its peripherals. These PM
procedures are intended to maintain the quality of the ultrasound systems performance. Read this
chapter completely and familiarize yourself with the procedures before starting a PM.

Practice good ESD prevention. Wear an anti–static strap when handling electronic parts and

even when disconnecting/connecting cables.
THERE ARE SEVERAL PLACES ON THE BACKPLANE, THE AC DISTRIBUTION,

AND DC DISTRIBUTION THAT ARE DANGEROUS. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT
THE SYSTEM POWER PLUG AND SWITCH OFF THE MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER
(F1) BEFORE YOU REMOVE ANY PARTS. BE CAUTIOUS WHENEVER POWER
IS STILL ON AND COVERS ARE REMOVED.
Do not pull out or insert circuit boards while power is ON.
CAUTION
Do not operate this unit unless all board covers and frame panels are securely in place. System
