6.1.5.3 Example engineering procedure
The procedure for how to engineer the triple busbar station with two sections and six protection zones
(see Figure 75) will be presented here.
Step 1: Allocation of protection zones
In the single line diagram the individual bus-protection zones in the station shall be indicated and
associated with the corresponding zones available within the IED. This has been already done for all five
example applications, see the marked zones Z1, Z2 etc. in the figures above.
