Passwords should use as wide a variety of characters as possible. Passwords should be changed regularly, at
least on a quarterly basis. Do not recycle old passwords.
Note: The default system administrator password is 00000000. This should be changed immediately for
security reasons.

Password Considerations

Consider the following when programming the Office Module:
Up to 100 passwords can be programmed into each Office Module.
Change the Administrator's password from the default 00000000 (eight zeros)
Only one Remote Module at a time can be "online" with an individual Office Module.
Passwords are retained in non-volatile memory and are not affected by power outages.
All passwords must contain 8 to 10 digits, which includes the two digit user number.
To prevent a user from changing a password, assign a 9 to the third digit of the password.
Each password begins with two digits (00–99). The "00" password is reserved for the system administrator
and can be used to change any of the remaining passwords. These digits uniquely identify up to 100 users.

Passwords Configuration

The System Administrator is the person responsible for configuring Passwords. Selecting this menu item
from the Configure System menu will prompt the user for the System Administrator's password.

Accessing Passwords Menu

Follow these steps to program passwords on the Office Module for the remote users:
1.
Enter the Terminal Configuration menu.
2.
Select Configure System from the Main Menu. The Configure System Menu appears.
3.
Select Passwords from the Configure System Menu.
4.
Press Enter. The screen prompts you to enter your administrator password.
5.
Type your System Administrator password (the default is 00000000). The System Administrator's pass-
word is not displayed when entered (for security reasons).
6.
Press Enter. The Password Menu is displayed, allowing you to Display, or Change passwords.
To Disable a User
From the Passwords menu:
1.
Select Change Password.
2.
The system prompts you to enter the new password. Enter the two-digit user number you want to dis-
able.
3.
Press Enter. The user password is now disabled and the user will be restricted from accessing the sys-
tem. Any two-digit password automatically disables that user number.
