Terminal Configuration Menu Operation

Introduction

This section provides information on the terminal configuration menu operation.

The ETI and TTI Menus

The Enhanced Terminal Interface (ETI) and the Text Terminal Interface (TTI) provides you with a user-
friendly interface to configure the Office and Remote Modules through the RS232 port.
The ETI menu operates using VT100 terminal emulation. If your PC doesn't have VT100 terminal emula-
tion you need to use the TTI menu which is used for TTY terminal emulation. The EXTender will automati-
cally detect if a VT 100 terminal is being used. If a VT100 is not being used the EXTender will revert to TTI.
Note, that pressing Ctrl T will cause the unit to try and auto-detect a VT100 terminal.
There are three methods to access the ETI/TTI menus
Power-up access
Continuous operation Dial-up data type access
Continuous operation Ethernet data type access

Power-up Access of the ETI/TTI Menu

The following method must be used to access the configuration menu when using the serial data type:
1.
To access the configuration menu, you must connect a terminal or PC to the RS-232 port of the Office
Module. The PC must be running a terminal emulation package. Configure your terminal or terminal
application to 9600bps, No parity, 8 data bits, and 1 stop bit. The terminal type should be set to VT100.
2.
Unplug the Office Module, and plug it back in after waiting a few seconds. When the Office Module is
powered-up, it will begin a specific blink sequence eventually ending with a series of 3 sets of yellow
blinks.
3.
Type the word MENU from your PC or terminal while the LED blinks its first set of 8 yellow flashes
described above. The Configuration menu will appear.

any time from the AT command mode.

Module. The PC must be running a terminal emulation package with terminal type set to VT100.
