Startup of ETERNUS Web GUI

Startup of ETERNUS Web GUI
Start up ETERNUS Web GUI via the Web browser of the connected terminal.
If the settings of the Web browser are incorrect, ETERNUS Web GUI may not be connected. For details on these
settings, refer to "Configuration Guide (Web GUI)".
1
Check that the administration terminal is connected to the ETERNUS DX.
2
Enter "http://IP address of the ETERNUS DX/" to the address bar in the web browser (Default IP address is
"192.168.1.1").
The login screen for ETERNUS Web GUI appears.
Note
The default number of port that is used for http connection is "80".

When Using the Remote Installation Function

When operating and managing multiple ETERNUS DX storage systems that are connected to the network, use
the DHCP server to simplify the procedure for connecting each ETERNUS DX and administration terminal (this
function is called as the "Remote Installation" function).
If the MNT port of the ETERNUS DX is connected to the network, the DHCP server assigns a network address to
the MNT port. The network setup information for ETERNUS DX storage systems in the network is collected by
using a Windows application called ETERNUS Connection Detecting tool (ECD). Log in to ETERNUS Web GUI on
the network address of the MNT port where information was collected.
To use the Remote Installation function with the DHCP server, satisfying the network conditions and obtaining
an ECD are required. Contact your maintenance engineer.
If the Remote Installation function is not used, the network environment is configured in the usual way: the
maintenance engineer configures the network environment of the MNT port by connecting the administration
terminal to the RMT port of the ETERNUS DX (with the ETERNUS DX500 S5/DX600 S5/DX900 S5, connect the
administration terminal to the FST port).
The MNT port network environment settings must be set with an authorized IP address. Some functions are
not available if the network environment settings are incomplete.

When Using the SSL (https) Connection

The "SSL server certificate" or the "self-signed SSL certificate" must be registered in the ETERNUS DX in advance.
When registering "SSL server certificate"
1
Use either of the following methods to obtain an "SSL server certificate" from the certification authority.
-
Use the [Create Key/CSR] function (*1) of the ETERNUS DX to download a Certificate Signing Request
(CSR) and send it to the certification authority.
Use a generally provided tool or website other than the ETERNUS DX.
-
2
If the "SSL server certificate" is in the PFX format, convert it to the PEM format (*1).
3
Use the [Register SSL Certificate] function (*1) to register the obtained "SSL server certificate".
When registering a "self-signed SSL certificate" that is created using the ETERNUS DX
1
Create the "self-signed SSL certificate" using the [Create Self-signed SSL Certificate] function (*1).
