Uploading the Device Description File
About the Device Description File
The Device Description (DD) file is a .ZIP file which is available on the product CD
supplied by SKF. The Device Description file for the SKF Multilog WVT is needed by the
WDM to understand the device and channel parameters. The Device Description file
contains:
• Menus for arranging and grouping parameters of a channel
• Device diagnostic information
When all of the required physical connections between the network components have
been established, you will use the WDM user interface to upload the SKF Multilog WVT's
Device Description file to the WDM, as described below.
Upload the Device Description File to the WDM
To upload the Device Description file:
• On the ribbon bar of the WDM user interface, in the Maintenance group, click
Templates.
• The Upload DD File dialog opens.
