The Namur tacho provides an output signal whenever an event passes under the sensor
tip. The event is typically a notch or keyway that passes under the sensor; alternatively,
the sensor will produce a signal whenever a key or projection passes under the tip. An
LED installed at the rear of the sensor flashes when the event is sensed.
