CAUTION
Overheating of drive unit. Continuous use of the DynamicArm over a longer period of time (e.g. frequent
lifting and lowering) can lead to overheating of the drive unit. Touching overheated components can result in
painful situations. Particular caution should be exercised during use by patients having skin with decreased
heat sensitivity.
In case of overheating the performance of the DynamicArm is impaired and the full lifting force can no longer
be utilised. The activities must be discontinued until the drive unit has cooled. After cooling the full function-
ality is restored.
CAUTION
Risk of pinching where the elbow joint bends. Ensure that fingers and other body parts are not in this area
when bending the elbow joint, and that no pressure is exerted on the elastic cover.
CAUTION
Consequences of product deterioration. Wear and tear on system components can lead to malfunction of
the DynamicArm, resulting in a risk of injury to the patient. Follow the recommended service schedule.
3.1 Service Information
Since all movable mechanical parts are subject to wear and tear, biannual service is required. During the ser-
vice visit, the entire DynamicArm will be inspected by Ottobock Myo-Service and any necessary adjustments
or replacements of worn parts will be performed.

5 Description and Function

The DynamicArm is a myoelectrically controlled and electric motor driven elbow joint for the fitting of above-
elbow amputees of different amputation heights. In combination with other prosthetic components such as
Electric Wrist Rotator, System Electric Hand or System Electric Greifer, the DynamicArm helps the wearer to
perform everyday tasks. The System Electric Hand 8E39=* and 8E41=*, System Electric Greifer 8E34=*,
Electrohand 2000 8E51=* and Transcarpal Hand 8E44=* cannot be combined with the DynamicArm.
