8.6 Charging Plug
The charging plug is also suitable for bilateral amputees. It is designed such that the user can insert it into the
charging receptacle with a hand prosthesis or with their mouth.
8.7  Important Information
INFORMATION
The battery must be charged before the first use of the prosthesis.
INFORMATION
During the charging process, it is not possible to perform any activities since the DynamicArm is in safety mode.
INFORMATION
The DynamicArm can remain connected to the battery charger when the charging process is finished and the
green LED is lit. Overcharging or damage to the battery is not possible. Partial charging does not decrease
battery shelf life (no memory effect).
INFORMATION
Charging is only possible at temperatures over 0 °C (32 °F). If the temperature is lower than this, charging
is prevented to avoid battery damage.
INFORMATION
Battery charger and AC-adapter will heat up during the charging process. This is normal.
9 Calibration of the DynamicArm
The DynamicArm must be calibrated during the first fitting as well as each time the socket has been renewed
or modified or the DynamicArm repaired or serviced. Calibration is made with the ElbowSoft software.
The DynamicArm bending angle is approx. 15° – 145°. The actual flexion angle is determined by the shape
and size of the socket and by the patient's clothing. It must be measured during the calibration process and
saved in the DynamicArm.
For data transfer between the PC and DynamicArm, Bluetooth technology is used (refer to the ElbowSoft In-
structions for Use 647G341).
1) Mount the DynamicArm in the socket.
2) Turn on the DynamicArm.
3) Start the ElbowSoft software. Read the ElbowSoft software Instructions for Use 647G341 for further
proceeding.

The flexion force of the DynamicArm is too weak for lifting loads. Flexion and
extension without load is possible, however. The functions of the connected prosthetic
components remain intact.
A vibration signal and a sound sequence inform the patient that there is only little
battery capacity left. The DynamicArm stops functioning. The elbow joint can be
released and locked manually. The functions of the connected prosthetic compo-
nents remain intact.
A sound sequence informs the patient that the battery is empty. Now all other pros-
thetic components also cease to function.
