The DynamicArm offers the following essential advantages:
• High lifting and holding force
• Natural, delicate control with precise and fast positioning
• Natural free swing behaviour
• Appealing look
To control the DynamicArm and hand prosthesis, MYOBOCK Electrodes, Ottobock Linear Transducers,
Ottobock 4-Step Transducers or Ottobock Switches or a combination of these components are used. A Li-Ion
battery integrated into the DynamicArm provides the energy required.
With the DynamicArm turned off or with a depleted battery, the elbow joint can still be locked and unlocked in
any position, even when loaded, by means of a cable control.
INFORMATION
In pristine condition, the DynamicArm can lift a load up to approx. 5 kg. Once this lift capacity is exceeded,
the joint will be locked and an audible warning signal will be issued to inform the patient that the load is too
heavy. Only after reduction of the load to be lifted will flexion and extension be possible again!
INFORMATION
In order to allow the patient to slowly become familiar with the product, the DynamicArm is delivered with its
maximum speed set to approx. 31 %. To change the maximum speed setting, please refer to the ElbowSoft
Instructions for Use 647G341.

6 Definition of Terms

6.1  AFB (Automatic Forearm Balance)
The Automatic Forearm Balance provides for harmonious movements, noise l ess free swing and reduction of
energy consumption.
When the prosthetic arm is extended, the AFB stores the energy generated by gravity to make flexion easier
later on. The utilization of the energy generated in this way makes the battery's capacity last much longer. The
degree of flexion assistance can be adjusted to the individual weight of the prosthetic forearm and to different
clothing by means of a "finger wheel".
6.2 EasyPlug
The EasyPlug feature makes it simple to wire myoelectric prostheses. The cables of the
electrodes and of an optional switch are plugged into the internal elbow cover. Since
there are no external cables, this enhances both the durability and cosmetic appearance
of the DynamicArm.

6.3  Forearm Connection Cables
The forearm connection cables create the electrical connection
between the DynamicArm, Electric Wrist Rotator and System Electric
Hand or System Electric Greifer.
Upon delivery, the forearm connection cable is rolled up in the forearm
of the elbow prosthesis. After having ground the forearm down to
its definite length, the forearm connection cable can be pulled out.
NOTICE
Damage to cable. The cable can be damaged during trimming.
Do not pull out the cable until you have cut the forearm to the definite length!
