Operation

Changing the Color Detection of the Internal Densitometer

Correction factors (calibration factors) for the three
color channels can be entered for the selected
paper in the Print PBL screen. By means of these
values the color detection of the internal
densitometer can be changed.
Application
- Papers of different manufacturers may result in
different color impressions although the same
calibration factors were used for the calibration
procedure. By means of different calibration
factors the color impressions of different papers
can be adapted.
- The PBL can be adapted to produce a neutral
gray for the gray shades (e.g. especially
important for black/white prints).
Procedure for the calibration of a paper
with new defined calibration factors
The calibration of a paper with new defined
calibration factors can be made with or without an
external densitometer.
Calibration without external densitometer:
1. Print a PBL without laser point on the selected
paper.
2. Determine the color cast in the grayscale by its
optical impression.
3. Reduce the calibration factor of the respective
color. Whereby a reduction of the calibration
factor by 0.1 results in a reduction of the
density by about 10% (with 0.2 by about 20%
etc.).
4. Repeat the steps 1. through 3. until the
grayscale comes out neutral.
