Detail contrast (for color negatives and digital)

This parameter influences the sharpness of
medium structures (1-2 mm), e.g. faces.
Shifting towards +
Structures appear sharper / harsher.
Shifting towards –
Structures appear softer / flatter,
Spotlights are eliminated.
Extreme settings result in artifacts.
Detail contrast and area contrast should not be
adjusted in opposite directions.

Color / density corrections (only for digital)

Value range -9 to +9
The effect of the correction input depends on
the setup of the Impact parameter.
Color / density corrections for color negatives:
This description follows later in the sections DX
corrections and Color corrections

Area contrast (only for color negatives)

Shifting this slider has the following effect on large
structures (cm):
Contrast reduction
Positive values reduce the contrast
Disadvantage: Too high values (+9) may
result in artifacts; e.g. halo effects with dark
faces in front of a gray background.
Contrast increase
Negative values increase the contrast
Example:
Light face in front of a dark background.
The more negative the value (-9), the lighter
the face and the darker the background.
Extreme settings result in artifacts.
Detail contrast and area contrast should not be
adjusted in opposite directions.
