Daily calibration with the MBL

The MBL should be printed directly after the
machine start (as soon as the chemicals have
reached their nominal temperatures) and should
be repeated once or twice during the day.
For an MBL the master paper must always be
inserted. If an Auto-MBL is to be printed after
machine start, the master paper must be inserted
the night before.
The MBL calibrates the master paper again and all
other papers are adapted according to the master
correction.
In the following print operation the MBL is the
means to keep the production stable and uniform.
Therefore it should be guaranteed every day that
the chemical fluctuations and/or changes in the
paper process are compensated.
Main conditions for a successful working
principle with this concept:
− Only print a PBL for a paper, e.g. because of a
new emulsion, if a successful MBL was printed
just before. In other words, a PBL is only
printed in a calibrated machine.
− In case of emulsion changes in the master
paper a PBL must follow immediately on this
paper, and this without laser point.
− Just before, if still possible, an MBL should be
printed on the old emulsion.
