Sharpness - grain (for color negatives and digital)

Sharpness - grain
This parameter has a similar effect as Sharpness -
edges, however on smaller structures (< 1 mm),
e.g. hair in portraits, grass.
Shifting towards +
–
Fine structures appear sharper.
Shifting towards –
–
Fine structures appear softer.
Hints:
Fine structuring:
–
If the value is increased fine details become
even sharper (e.g. highlights in the night), but
homogenous areas show noise effects.
Unsharpness:
–
In case of reduction of this value the noise is
reduced, the grain structure disappears, but
details are less sharp and highlights are
eliminated.
Grain reduction only with values ≤ 0, e.g. –4
