removed during inspection or repair, all head bolts must be

retightened according to the head bolt torque sequence.
Valve Adjustment - Check
Verify that the valves are adjusted correctly.
Valve Lash:
Intake .254 mm [.010 in]
Exhaust .508 mm [.020 in]
Valve Seal - Wear
Worn valve seals are typically detected by blue smoke at idle or
when the engine is unloaded and going down hill. Verify the
condition by removing the valve spring and inspecting the

Hardening of the material and wear or damage to the sealing
surface will cause the seal to leak.
