The piston pin end of the connecting rod is angle cut to provide
additional bearing surface and is fitted with a bronze bushing.

.750 mm [.0295 In.]
1.000 mm [.0394 in.]
Oversize service rod bearings are available for use with re-
ground crankshafts.
Crankshaft and Main Bearings
Out-of-Chassis Repair
The crankshaft is a balanced, forged steel unit with 7 main
bearings. The lower bearing shells are ail the same. All of the
upper bearing shells are also the same with the exception of
the Journal adjacent to the rear one. The next to the last journal
is fitted with a flanged upper bearing shell. The flanges control
the end thrust of the crankshaft.
