1-4-8 Mechanical problems

If the part causing the problem was not supplied, use the unit including the part for replacement.
Problem
(1)
No primary paper
feed.
(2)
No secondary paper
feed.
(3)
Skewed paper feed.
(4)
Multiple sheets of
paper are fed.
(5)
Paper jams.
(6)
Toner drops on the
paper conveying path.
Causes/check procedures
Check if the surfaces of the following roll-
ers are dirty with paper powder.
Forwarding pulley
Paper feed pulley
MP paper feed pulley
PF forwarding pulley
PF paper feed pulley
Check if the following rollers is deformed.
Forwarding pulley
Paper feed pulley
MP paper feed pulley
PF forwarding pulley
PF paper feed pulley
Defective paper feed clutch 1, 2, MP
paper feed clutch or PF paper feed clutch
1, 2 installation.
Check if the surfaces of the following roll-
ers are dirty with paper powder.
Right registration roller
Left registration roller
Defective registration motor installation.
Paper width guide in a cassette installed
incorrectly.
Check if the paper is excessively curled.
Paper is loaded incorrectly.
Check if the separation pulley is worn.
Check if the paper is excessively curled.
Check if the contact between the right
and left registration rollers is correct.
Check if the heat roller or press roller is
extremely dirty or deformed.
Check if the contact between the PF feed
roller 1, 2 and PF feed pulleys is correct.
Check if the drum unit or developer unit
is extremely dirty.
Clean with isopropyl alcohol.
Check visually and replace any
deformed (see page 1-5-21, 1-5-24, 1-
5-26,1-5-32).
Check visually and remedy if necessary.
Clean with isopropyl alcohol.
Check visually and remedy if necessary.
Check the paper width guide visually
and remedy or replace if necessary.
Change the paper.
Load the paper correctly.
Replace the separation pulley if it is
worn (see page 1-5-21, 1-5-24, 1-5-26).
Change the paper.
Check visually and remedy if necessary.
Check visually and replace the fuser
unit (see page 1-5-67).
Check visually and remedy if necessary.
Clean the drum unit or developer unit.
