ADJUSTING THE EXUP CABLES
1. Remove:
• EXUP valve pulley cover "1"

2. Check:
• EXUP system operation

a. Activate the diagnostic mode and select the
diagnostic code number "53".
Refer to "FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM" on
page 8-33.
b. Set the start/engine stop switch to " ".
c. Check that the EXUP valve operates proper-
ly.
TIP
Check that the projection "a" on the EXUP valve
pulley contacts the stopper "b" (fully open posi-
tion). If the projection does not contact the stop-
per, adjust the EXUP cable free play.

3. Adjust:
• EXUP cable free play
▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼
a. Slide back the rubber cover "1".
b. Turn the main switch to "ON".
c. Loosen the locknut "2".
d. Turn the adjusting nut "3" in direction "c" or "d"
until the projection "a" on the EXUP valve pul-
ley slightly contacts the stopper "b" and make
sure the EXUP cable (black metal) "4" is not
slack.
e. Tighten the locknut "2".
f. Slide back the rubber cover "5".
g. Loosen the locknut "6".
h. Turn the adjusting nut "7" in direction "e" or "f"

i. Tighten the locknut "6".
