TROUBLESHOOTING

Any of the following fail to light: headlight, auxiliary light, high beam indicator light, tail/brake light, li-
cense plate light or meter light.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Rider seat/Air scoop/Air scoop stay/Side cover
2. Rear side cover/Rear cowling
3. Front cover/Windshield/Meter assembly cover
4. Headlight assembly
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, headlight, backup, ignition
and signaling system)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSES"
on page 8-194.
OK
2. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 8-195.
OK
3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-191.
OK
4. Check the dimmer/pass switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-191.
OK
5. Check the entire lighting system's
wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM" on
page 8-17.
OK
Replace the ECU, meter assembly,
headlight assembly, tail/brake light, li-
cense plate light or auxiliary light.
Refer to "REPLACING THE ECU
(Engine Control Unit)" on page 8-194.
Replace the fuse(s).
NG
• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
NG
Replace the main switch.
NG
The dimmer/pass switch is faulty. Replace
the left handlebar switch.
NG
Properly connect or repair the lighting sys-
tem's wiring.
NG
