Dash monitors may be shipped with protective covers to protect unused
parameter connector inputs from dust and liquids.
NOTE: Do not remove these covers, the parameter connectors do not
function.
WARNING
After connecting the monitor to the central station and/or
nurse-call system, verify the function of the alarm system. This
can be done, for instance, by temporarily changing one of the
alarm limits to initiate an alarm.
•
Turn on the device with the power switch at the front. The green AC
ON indicator lights up (page 1-13).
•
The monitor display appears after approximately 10 seconds.
After power up and during operation the Dash 2000 runs automatic self-
tests. When a malfunction is detected, the monitor displays a message and
a prompt, asking whether the user wishes to continue operation.
WARNING
If this message appears during operation, it is the physician's
responsibility to decide whether the unit is still suitable for
patient monitoring. As a general rule, monitoring with this
unit should continue only in extremely urgent cases and under
the supervision of a physician. The unit must be repaired
before being used again on a patient. If this message appears
after power up, the unit must be repaired before being used on
a patient.
WARNING
After connecting the monitor to a central station, verify the
function of the alarm system. This can be done, for instance, by
temporarily changing one of the alarm limits to initiate an
alarm.
