General information

The program editor, which is a component of the setup program and the multifunction panel, is
used to create programs.
The program editor is available when the "Program generator" option (extra code 225) or the
"Program generator with process steps" option (extra code 228, as of system version 02) has
been activated in the setup program (Project: Hardware arrangement > Globals).
 Setup program manual B 705000.6
Each program can consist of a maximum of three program channels with four setpoint values
and 16 operating contacts. There can be up to 100 program sections for each program channel.
Tolerance band monitoring can be set up for the first setpoint value of each program channel.
This means that the relevant actual value is monitored; if it leaves the tolerance band, the pro-
gram is stopped until it returns to a value that is within the tolerance band.
A total of 100 programs can be managed in a program pool.
A program generator is required to execute a program. Nine independent program generators
are available as an option, meaning that nine programs can run asynchronously and indepen-
dently from each other. A program can also be assigned multiple program generators.
A program can be started, stopped, and aborted by an action on the multifunction panel, a dig-
ital signal, or via the PLC. It is also possible to switch between program sections. A program
can also be started by specifying the date and time. The individual program channels start syn-
chronously. Program selection, program start, and program stop are also possible via barcode
scanner.
A program ends when all program channels of the program are completed. If a program chan-
nel is completed prematurely, its setpoint values and operating contacts are set to a defined
value (basic status).
For manual mode, separate setpoint values and operating contacts can be defined for each
program channel (basic status), which are applied after changeover to the manual mode. The
setpoint values can be adjusted via the multifunction panel.
The behavior after a mains interruption can be configured (e.g. program abort, continuation of
run, or continuation/abort with the multifunction panel).
As of system version 03, the repetition of the whole program is supported – in addition to the
repetition of program sections.
Process steps (as of system version 02)
The option "Program generator with process steps" (extra code 228) is required for this func-
tion.
Limit values and selection options for certain parameters of the program editor are predefined
by the configuration of up to 100 process steps in the setup program. This configuration is usu-
ally performend by the plant manufacturer since specific knowledge about the plant is required.
 Chapter 8.8 "Process steps (as of system version 02)", page 126
The plant operator (or the PLC programmer) can change the function of the program generator
by programming a function module in the PLC. Thus it is possible to adapt the program gener-
ator to the specific requirements of the single process steps in a production process.
