rate selection profile lock
Use the rate selection profile lock interface configuration command to lock a profile in a port on
which rate selection is enabled. Use the no form of this command to unlock a profile in a port.
This command is available only on Catalyst 2950 Long-Reach Ethernet (LRE) switches.

This command has no arguments or keywords.

Usage Guidelines
The rate selection profile lock interface configuration command does not enable rate selection. It only
takes affect when a sequence is assigned to a port.
If rate selection is already converged on the port, this command causes the profile chosen by rate
selection to immediately lock. During the lock process, the name of the profile appends to the end of this
command. For example, if rate selection converges on LRE-15 and you enter the command, this locked
configuration appears:
Switch(config-if)# rate selection profile lock LRE-15
If rate selection is not already converged on the port, this command has no immediate effect. However,
when rate selection converges for that port, the profile is locked immediately, and the output of the
running configuration is saved as in the previous example.
Examples
This example shows how to lock a profile to a port that is running rate selection:
Switch(config-if)# rate selection profile lock
