CHAPTE R ELEVEN
STARTER SWITCH
I .
Rem ove the head light upper pod as described
under High-Beam Headlight (Sportsman Models).
Bulb
Replacement
in this chapter.
2. Remo ve the nuts, loekwashers and washers (A.
Figure 70 ) securing the speedo meter hous ing to the
headli ght upper pod.
3. Withdraw the speedo meter hou sing (E, Figure
70) out thro ugh the front o f the headlight pod.
4. Install the speedometer housing in throu gh the
front of the headlight pod.
5. Install washers, lockwashers and nuts securing
the speedo meter housing. Tighten the nuts securely.
6. Install the head light upper pod .

2. Remove the front fender as described in Chapter
Fifteen .
3. Remov e the bo lt and washer (A. Figure 71) se-
curing the speed sensor to the caliper mounting
brack et.
4. Remove the speed sensor (B, Figu re 7 1) from
the bracket.
5. Follow the spee d sensor e lectrical wi res from the
sensor up to the headl ight lower pod. Remove the
wires from the headli ght lower pod.
6. Install by reversing these removal steps. Tighten
the bo lt securely.
