10. Loosen and remove the bolt. lock washer and
flat washe r securing the front output ring gear to the
output sha ft.
II . Rem ove th e front output rin g gea r (A. Fig ure
127) from the bottom access area.
12. Unscrew th e front outp ut housing (B, F igu re
125) and remove
it
from the trans m iss ion ca se.
After removal , protect th e thread s
from
dam age
with duct or e lec trica l tape.
13. If
necessary, use a
brass hammer or press to
withdr aw th e front ou tput sha ft, bearin g, then the
circlip. shims ami o il sea l out of the tran smi ssion
e nd o f the front ou tput housing, Th e inner be aring
will remain on th e sha ft.
14. Slide th e oil sea
l off
the sha ft.
15. Remove the c ircli p and shims from the sha ft.
Reco rd the numb er and thi ckn ess o f the shims as
the same number and thickn ess must be rein -
sta lled if the exis ting co mponents are go ing to be
re install ed. Remove the outer bea ring from the
shaft .
