If the ATV has been sitting for any time and re-
fuses to start, c heck and clean the spark plug. If the
plug is not fouled, look to the fuel delivery system.
Th is includes the fuel tan k (Figure I), fuel shutoff
valve (F igu re 2), fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel
lines. If the ATV sat for awhile with lite I in the ca r-
bureto r. fuel deposits may have g ummed up carbu-
retor j ets and air passages. Gasoline tends to lose its
potency after sta nding for long periods, Condensa-
tion may contamina te
it
wit h water. Drain the old
gas and try starti ng with a fresh tankful.

2A. On 1996- 1998 mode ls, perform the follow ing:
a. Move the engine auxiliary shutoff switch (A,
Figure 3) to the RUN position.
b. Tum the key, or ignition, switch to the ON po-
sitio n.
e. Move the choke toggle lever (A, Figu re 4) to
the ON position (Figure 4 ).
d . With the thrott le completely closed, pus h the
start button (B , Figure 3).
