System 5 Digital Audio Mixing System Operation Manual
Copy Faders to Aux
A useful technique to create a performer's monitor mix is to first create the mix on the
faders, which typically feed an output bus, and use those settings as a starting point for
the aux mix.
The fader levels (and pan positions for those faders controlling stereo channels) can be
copied to a selected Aux bus from this panel.
1. Press the Fader Copy button.
2.
Press the Aux bus knob that corresponds to the destination the settings are to
be copied.
3.
When finished, select a different Aux function.
This effects only those channels on the surface.
Copy Aux to Aux
Creating a performer's monitor mix can be faster by starting with an existing aux mix
from another performer with similar requirements and copying it to another aux bus.
The settings for one Aux bus can be copied to another from this panel.
1. Press the Aux Copy button.
2.
Press the Aux bus knob from which the settings are to be copied.
3.
Press the Aux bus knob to which the copied settings are to be pasted.
4.
When finished, select other Aux busses to copy or select a different Aux function.
This effects only those channels on the surface.
Aux to Faders
Aux busses are often used to create customized monitor feeds for individual performers.
However, creating a mix on the knobs is not as easy as using the faders, which have finer
control and better visual indication of relative levels. It is now possible to control a select-
ed Aux bus from the faders. Aux busses now have 12 dB of gain to match the range of the
channel fader. After the aux mix is set, the faders are restored to their normal function.
1. Press the AuxtoFader button.
2. Press an Aux bus knob to map that Aux bus onto the faders.
3. When finished, select another Aux or select a different Aux function.
This mode stays enabled if you navigate to a different panel so press Auxto-
Fader again to disable this function when finished.
This effects all channels including those not on the surface.
