Replacing the lift wire

Caution
• Removing the tray up/down motor brings down the main tray up/down stay. So, be sure to remove
the motor while holding the up/down motor by hand.
Note
• The explanation here of the wire replacement procedure is made by using the example on the rear
side. Since the parts composition is the same for both the front side and the rear side, be sure to
conduct the wire replacement on the front side following the same procedure taken on the rear
side. However, since the winding of wire is symmetrical to that on the rear side, be sure to take
note of the winding direction.
• A different up/down wire is used for each of the front side and the rear side. Each of the wire fit-
tings is stamped with "F" or "R." Be sure to check it for a correct one.
• When replacing the wire on the front side only, be sure to remove the up/down motor unit on the
rear side in advance following the steps 1 to 3 below.

1. Remove the following parts.
Left cover (See "3.3.5 Removing/reinstalling
the left cover")
Front cover (See "3.3.3 Removing/reinstalling
the front door")
Rear cover (See "3.3.4 Removing/reinstalling
the rear cover")
Main tray (See "3.3.6 Removing/reinstalling
the main tray")
2. Remove 5 screws [1] to remove the reinforcing
metal [2], and then remove the wiring harness
from 4 clamps [3] and disconnect the connector
[4].
