Upgrading Using the USB Drive (from the operation panel)

Follow the instructions below to upgrade the firmware from the operation panel using the USB drive
for upgrade.
Note
<Instructions>
(1) Turn the Printer off.
(2) Check that bits 3 and 4 of the SW3 DIP switch on the ARC board are both set to Off (usually
the switches 1 to 4 are Off).
(3) Turn the Printer on.
(4) Connect the USB drive for upgrade to the USB port on the ARC board.
(5) Check the old version in Menu -> Upgrade, and then press the OK button to perform the
upgrade.
To change the system files used for upgrade, you may press the button next the system files.
Doing so displays the files saved in the USB drive and allows you to select the system files
you want to use.
Press the OK button on the screen shown above to display the following pop-up window.

◇ With the multifunction model, the firmware cannot be upgraded when the
scanner is jammed with original documents. In such a case, remove the
original documents before upgrading the firmware.
