Chapter 1
This chapter discusses the work instructions, required tools, and the names of parts required
for initial maintenance of the Printer.

Maintenance Work Process Overview
Maintenance work can be divided into two categories: regular inspections based on a
maintenance agreement and maintenance required when a malfunction or other problem
occurs.
The work flow for each of these categories is shown in the figure below.
Regular Inspection
Maintenance
Check the state of the Printer (problems,
complaints, etc.).
Check and clean all necessary parts.

Replace parts if necessary. See Chapter 9
Or, adjust if necessary. See Chapters 10 & 11
Perform a print test and check to ensure there
are no problems.

Confirm the details of the problem and the state of
the printer when the problem occurred.
Perform any necessary troubleshooting.
- Possibly a controller problem? See Chapter 4
- Possibly an engine problem? See Chapter 5
- Possibly an scanner problem? See Chapter 6
- Image quality problems See Chapters 7 & 8
Replace any malfunctioning parts. See Chapter 9
Or, perform any adjustment if necessary.
Check to ensure that all problems have been
solved.
