Replacing the Power Supply in the Bottom Slot

To replace the power supply in the bottom slot of the switch:
1. If you have not already done so, ensure that the EX4500 switch you are working on is operating normally,
with both power supplies turned on, by verifying that the LED on each power supply is lit steadily green
(see
Figure 53 on page
2. If you have not already done so, attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the
strap to the ESD point on the lower right front of the chassis—or touch the exposed, bare metal of the
switch to ground yourself before handling a component.
3. Remove power from the old power supply in the bottom slot (see Step
in the Top Slot" on page
4. Remove the power cord from the old power supply in the bottom slot (see Step
Power Supply in the Top Slot" on page
5. Remove the bottom old power supply from the switch (see Step
the Top Slot" on page
CAUTION:
switch is operational. Either replace the power supply promptly or install a cover
panel over the empty slot.
