If you are using AC power:
If the AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the OFF (0) position.
If the AC power source outlet does not have a power switch, gently pull out the plug end of the
power cord connected to the power source outlet.
If you are using DC power:
Open the input circuit breaker so that the cables will not become active during the removal process.
3. Attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to the ESD point on the
chassis.
4. Remove the fan tray from the switch. See
Set it aside so that you can install it after you install the replacement Virtual Chassis module.
5. Loosen the captive screws on the front faceplate of the module using the screwdriver.
6. Position your fingers under the module as shown in
and eject the module.
NOTE:
Do not use the captive screws to pull the module out from the chassis. Pull from
underneath the front edge of the module.
7. Using both hands, gently slide the Virtual Chassis module halfway out of the chassis.
8. Place one hand under the module to support it and slide it completely out of the chassis.
9. Place the Virtual Chassis module in an antistatic bag or on an antistatic mat placed on a flat, stable
surface.
Promptly install the replacement Virtual Chassis module. See
